Fundraiser Success! PDA lands at Lydney

PDA 7459 lands at Lydney Jn
PDA 7459 lands at Lydney Jn

Delivery day for PDA 7459 to Lydney Junction, Dean Forest Railway, where it’s seen awaiting unloading whilst our TEA 87867 looks on.

This was the last stored vehicle at ABP Marchwood to depart and the site is now fully clear of the former MODA wagons which have been based there for many years.

The PDA was originally VCA 200429 the change being merely paint and renumbering. Thanks to all the contributors to our recent Crowdfunder, you have helped get this van safe into preservation.

Also thanks to ABP and others who helped make this last minute rescue from Marchwood a reality. And of course DFR for welcoming these modern 50 year old veterans on their line. With several air braked vans resident at Lydney it presents interesting future possibilities for us.

"Tanks" to Valley Rail Preservation for their assistance with the delivery and the picture.
